Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, Goo Goo Dolls grew from punk and alternative roots into one of pop rock's enduring bands. Singer and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac have led the group through a career spanning more than three decades. Their 1998 album Dizzy Up the Girl brought enduring hits including “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon,” while “Name,” “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine” further showcase the band's catalog.
The band's history of emotionally direct songwriting and guitar-driven arrangements gives its live shows a strong mix of nostalgia and rock energy. “Iris,” which became a generational favorite after appearing in the film City of Angels, is especially known for its crowd-wide singalong appeal. The supplied lineup for this Atlanta date also features British rock band The Struts and headliner Def Leppard; set times and performance order may be announced closer to the event.
For this one-night Atlanta appearance, the arena setting offers a chance to hear the Goo Goo Dolls' hits alongside two other rock acts. Prices currently start around $120 and may exceed $500, depending on availability, seat location and demand.
State Farm Arena is a major indoor event venue in downtown Atlanta. For a multi-act rock bill, arena seating provides different ways to experience the show: floor areas put fans closer to the stage, while elevated sections can offer a broader view of the performance and production. Check the event's seating map when selecting tickets, as stage configuration can affect sightlines and available sections.
For a balance of perspective and comfort, consider seats with a direct view of the stage rather than relying on a section name alone. Views can vary by row and the concert's final setup, so review the specific seat details before purchasing.
Parking availability and rates can vary by event. Downtown Atlanta has arena-area parking facilities and other options within walking distance; allow extra time for traffic and pedestrian crowds before and after a concert.
For any parking option, confirm current access details, restrictions and fees directly with the facility. Avoid choosing an unfamiliar lot without verifying its location and event-day terms in advance.
